Colin Firth

I just don't get it with Colin Firth. What's all the fuss about? The new Bridget Jones movie is out and every woman I know is giving it "oooh, Colin Firth". It's even crept into the comments on my blog. I mean look at the guy. He's not what you'd consider attractive, he's just a plain, ordinary bloke. I can understand when women go on about Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, even George Clooney, but Colin Firth? He's like the back end of a bus. I guess there's just no accounting for taste.

Even Colin doesn't understand why he's so fanciable (see short article here - plus another lovely pic). I'm not sure it's him per se, more the smouldering, strong, silent type he plays.

I get the Colin Firth thing. He is good looking, but not too good looking. He has a nice voice, but not to distinctive. He is tall and slim, but not into the body beautiful stuff. He seems nice. Oh, and he always seems a little intense, which suggests that this is a man who feels things deeply, even if he can't always articulate those feelings. I think it's his very ordinariness that people like about him.

Don't forget, he's quite a good actor too. I always find him very watchable. So, in real life, he is probably none of those things. I wouldn't be surprised to find that he is really Tom Cruise. It's amazing what they can do with makeup these days.

I think the part he plays in Love Actually sums up all of his attractions. His little part of the film was the best part for me, and could easily have been a whole film just by itself.

I didn't click on the photo. I am still reeling from the sight of a bus stop poster for BJ where someone had scrawled "prick" over Colin's forehead.

I believe a lot of men don't get Colin Firth thing. They all wish themselves more like Tome Cruise or 007 type of handsome. They are much more handsome than Colin, I admit, but there is just something about Colin really draws you in, maybe his eyes, maybe the characters he plays. He is the only one actor really does it to me.

Here's why Firth scores over the other pansies you mentioned...because they are pansies. Now take Brad Pitt for example.Great looking but lets admit it, he would probably make a great looking babe as well.Blond hair, baby blue eyes and a pout aren't exactly 'manly attributes', are they?! And Colin Firth can actually act. I rest my case. Never understood the fascination for Tom Cruise so I'll resist from commenting on him. As for Deep and Clooney..they are hot.

I don't think Colin is major good looking in all his movies and t.v shows but he was drop dead gorgeous in Pride and Prejudice with that lush darky curly hair and those nice big sideburns. To be honest guys how are you going to know what men are good looking unless you are gay? I wouldn't call Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise or Pierce Brosnan as very handsome. They are just acceptable. The media just tells us we 'have' to like these guys. Its the same with Colin sometimes but he was one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen in Pride and Prejudice.

no, men don't see it, nor do they get it. I have never been attracted to a 'star' until I saw CF. That was 14 years ago. He's not a pretty boy. He is a man with classic good looks and has gotten better with age. Square jaw, wonderful smile, those eyes. Tall and handsome and the most under rated actor of his time. No matter the movie his performance is outstanding. And contrary to was is believed he is more into his family than persuing Hollywood and has a great sense of humor. If you haven't seen alot of his pictures, check my sight. It also lists all of his films, most of which the general public has no clue about. Oh the sight? Firth Essence.

Jealousy is a most unattractive quality. Maybe instead of making fun of a man (in the cheapest possible way) who is light years out of your league, you should strive to understand (dare I suggest, emulate?) the qualities that have won Colin Firth worldwide admiration. Qualities like: talent, hard work, intelligence, integrity, compassion, dedication (both to his craft and family),and a sense of humor that doesn't seek to destroy someone else. Women love Colin because of these attributes. The fact that he is physically an incredibly beautiful man is just icing on the cake. And great icing it is!

Colin Firth is not even comparable to Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt. He is so far above their league, you can't compare. The man has gotten so far into my brain cells that granted, I can't think straight when it comes to him, but I think he is absolutely the most perfect man that could exist on earth.
