Charley really doesn't like Whiskas "country pate style" pouches. Like me he has decided that they look like so much mashed up gunk and turns his nose up at them every time.
His favourite foods are
- Canned Tuna (he really goes mad for that)
- Whiskas "Pockets" Treat Biscuits
- Whiskas in Gravy
- Whiskas in Jelly
- Whiskas Biscuits
- Almost Any Other Sachet Food
- Starlings
- Sparrows
- Dirt
- Dust
- Going Hungry

- Whiskas Pate Style

Mine went mad for the chunks in gravy style food, one ate all the meat and the other licked up all the gravy. They're not allowed to have it anymore as they're on special diets. They both love angel food cake though, managed to knock it off the top of the fridge and helped themselves as if it were a buffet :-\ Greedy pigs. Jasper's other favourite food is plastic bags. You can't leave them out, not for 10 seconds or he's eating them and then sicking them up later :-(

Laura, that's strange. We've had to stop feeding Slinking the turkey in gravy because he started to refuse to eat the meat chunks and tried to live on a diet of gravy, which I am pretty sure is not good for him. Although when you see a plate of meat chunks without the gravy you'd understand why he wouldn't want to eat them. Slinky also eats plastic bags although he doesn't puke them up. He sort bites them as if he is cleaning his teeth or something. He has left his mark on bags all over the house. It's quite cute really. I haven't heard of another cat that does that.
Steve, I bought treat biscuits for Slinky once before I realised that they cost a fortune and Slinky hasn't got the slightest idea of what a treat is. So it was kind of wasted on him. Now I just buy him the most expensive cat food in the supermarket!

mr mcmuffin, I just wish he'd only bite the bags. If I forget and set one down for a bit, I'll come back and find huge chunks missing from it.
My two cats know what treats are, they sit in front of the cupboard where I store them and miaow until I give them some, sometimes trying to open the door themselves!

Something I don't understand. You are feeding your cat meat and fish although you are a veggie. Isn't that against your ethics?

Helga, you should see the following comic strip, it's about that subject:

I hope that link works :-( It's the Get Fuzzy comic strip which I read on yahoo. The Siamese cat is hilarious!

My cat would eat dirt as long as it was covered in gravy.

Laura, I've not seen those before. Had me laughing out loud. Thanks.

cats chew and eat plastic bags because many are processed using animal fat...and to a cat the plastic smells really good

Hello:
I was delighted to discover your blog. It's wonderful. I notice your comments about cats chewing plastic bags and I would like to let you know about something which is really important pertaining to cats and plastic bags. They can be absolutely fatal to a cat in ways most people have never thought of. There is an interesting article which I would love you to read. I try my best to inform as many cat lovers as possible about plastic bags. Please take a look at:

Anyone have any idea why my cats are obsessed with carrots? Whenever we buy bags of baby carrots at the store, as we are putting away the groceries, one of my cats is immediately on the bag of carrots, rubbing all over it, licking it, biting it. She rubs her face all over it, and even gets in this euphoric kind of state where she literally just rolls her whole body all over the bag of carrots. My other cat does it occasionally, but not as fervently or as often. I've tried to give them little pieces of carrots to see if they will weat it, but all they want to do is lick them and rub on them. Anyne else??
My cats like to lick plastic bags also, which I thought was weird when I first saw them do it, because the cat I had before them never did that in his whole 16 years.

Our cats seem obesessed with carrots as well. After 1 minite of sniffing it I took it away from her, then she bit my wife, who was holding her, really hard and wouldn't let go. She's a cranky old cat anyways, but she got really excited and aggressive. Can't answer your question though. She also loves plastic bags.

I just found out last week that my orange cat likes carrots. It cracked me up. I was sitting on my bed, munching on a carrot and he jumped up with me, pawing at my hand until I let him sniff it.
I figured he would just smell it and wander off but he started trying to gnaw on it and got really frustrated when he couldn't actually eat it. I wasn't really surprised though, since earlier this winter, I discovered he likes canned peas... :)
And I have another cat who will lick just about any thin plastic: bags, cellophane, the shower curtain... You name it, he'll lick it. He's also obsessed with tape.

I have discovered my cats LOVE carrots and plastic bags, and carrots in plastic bags. One of my cats licked the carrot and started rubbing all over it, then picked it up in his mouth and walked away with it.
My cats are also fans of plastic bags, they rub against them, then bite them they lick them, but they don't eat them.
